The Church at Spruce Creek has a long history. Our roots go back as far as 200 years when the church was founded by Elias Smith. Smith felt that the seacoast region needed another church that would teach the truth of God's Word and founded a church to do just that.
For many years, our fellowship went by the name of Court Street Christian Church in Portsmouth, NH. In the mid-1950's the church moved its place of worship from Court Street to Middle Street and was renamed Central Baptist Church.
In 1999, the Lord provided a new home for us that is more family-friendly and accessible than our former downtown location. When we moved away from central Portsmouth, we adopted a new name, The Church at Spruce Creek.
What We Believe
We are an independent, Christ-centered, evangelical church. We believe that God loves all people and wants to give His grace and forgiveness to all through Jesus Christ. For our complete statement of faith, click here.
