The Church at Spruce Creek has a long history. Our roots go back to the early 1800’s when the church was founded here in the seacoast region to teach the truth of God’s Word from a Baptist perspective.
For many years, our fellowship went by the name of Court Street Christian Church in Portsmouth, NH. In the mid-1950’s the church moved its place of worship from Court Street to Middle Street and was renamed Central Baptist Church.
In 1999, the Lord provided a new home for us that is more family-friendly and accessible than our former downtown location. When we moved away from central Portsmouth, we adopted a new name, The Church at Spruce Creek. Though our name and location have changed throughout the years, our mission has remained the same…we long to be a people that is continually learning Gods truth and living God’s love.
